Lucky the Leprechaun Strikes Again

We got another visit from Lucky the Leprechaun this year, but still no trap has been able to catch that tricky little leprechaun.
Lucky turned over a chair and threw pillows in the floor, but at least he left a path of  Gold Chocolate Nuggets...
... and a nice litle note, albeit backwards.
Lucky's escape route.
Will found a special treat from Lucky - green milk!
The boys with their stash of gold.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

What is that you might ask?

Well tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and the goal is of course to catch a leprechaun (something they learned about at the Little Learning Center).  Check out last year's visit from Lucky the Leprechaun here .
.
When I got home from school this evening they had already started work on their traps, yes plural as in 4 at last count.
I have to say they are very creative.  Trios, legos, toy story bucket of soldiers, construction paper, popcorn containers, nothing is off limits.  I'm still trying to figure out why the ones not sitting on rugs had to have clothes underneath them.  Oh well, we'll see how those pesky leprechauns escape this year.

The ABC's of ME

The ABCs of ME....

I recently saw this post on Happily Ever After...  I thought I'd join in.

A – Age: 35...just celebrated my 35th birthday on Sunday!

B – Bed size: Queen.  If I didn't love my bedroom suit so much I would want a king.

C – Chore you hate: close tie:  cleaning out the dishwasher or putting away clean clothes.  I don't mind at all to load the dishwasher , but I hate to clean it out...isn't that weird?

D – Dog’s name: "Harley"  She is part shar-pei, blue-tick,coondog/part beagle; but she is the cutest thing!

Here's a puppy picture - she's much bigger now.

E – Essential start your day item: lately it's been Special K Strawberry Cereal bars.

F – Favorite color: RED.  But it's a close tie with black.

G – Gold or Silver: I love both and have favorite jewelry pieces of both.

H – Height: 5’5 1/2"  Somehow I'm the short one of the family.

I – Instruments you play: I can play the piano.  I started taking lessons when I was 5, but don't really like to play for a crowd.

J – Job title: Middle School 8th grade Math Teacher

K – Kid(s): Two- precious boys!  Will is 6 and Walker is 3.  They are full of life and always on the go!  You never know what funny thing they are going to say or do next!

L – Living arrangements: w/Shannon, Will & Walker

M – Mom’s name: Elizabeth

N – Nicknames: I go by Susie or Mommy

O – Overnight hospital stay other than birth: Other than the birth of my 2 boys, I had my tonsils removed when I was 6.

P – Pet Peeve: I can't stand when people leave someone out.  Be nice people!

Q – Quote from a movie:

Only movie quote I can think of at the moment..."Nobody puts Baby in the corner!"  from one of my all time favorite movies Dirty Dancing.

R – Right or left handed: Righty

S – Siblings: One older sister, Stephanie (married to Marty with three girls).  Baby brother, Nick (newlywed to Emily).

T – Time you wake up: 5:30 on a school day.  Maybe just a tad later on the weekend- my boys are BOTH early birds.

U- Unique fact: The first B I can remember in school I got in math...but I went on to win the math award a couple of years later and now teach middle school math.

V – Vegetable you dislike: Broccoli, okra,...the list could go on and on.  IBut I LOVE potatoes and corn!

W – Ways/Reasons you run late: I try to sneak in a few more minutes of sleep in the morning OR check the computer before I leave and end up being late.

X – X-rays you’ve had: A few days before school started this year I sprained my ankle (while on a shopping trip).  I've also had lots of heart "stuff" too if that counts.

Y – Yummy food you make: I make a low-fat strawberry pie that is delicious!  Oh and I can make awesome chocolate gravy (not as good as my Granny's though).

Z – Zoo favorite- polar bears!  I can remember going to the zoo when I was little and watching them play.  Love, Love, Love them!  On our last trip to the zoo the polar bear exhibit was closed.  Made me sad that the boys didn't get to see them.
