Pumpkin Patch 2011

Last Sunday we took the boys to Heavenly Haven Farm.
Fun was had by all!
Playing on the hay stacks

Climbing through the tunnel.

Swinging

Jumping off haystack.

Going on a hayride.  Our friends Kelly, Nick and Nate joined us.

Hiking a trail and playing by the stream.

Picking pumpkins in the pumpkin patch.  This was the first one Walker picked, then when he got back on the wagon he decided he didn't like that one.

The boys with their pumpkins.

Going through the corn maze.  Notice how Will has had his hands in his pocket, for like every picture.

After the pumpkin patch, we headed to church for Family Night that was postponed due to weather on Wednesday.

CAUTION:  SNEAK Peek of Halloween Costumes

Army Guys!  Walker told me that he was in the Lord's Army! (Shannon had asked him).

Walker & a cute little pumpkin, Juliah

Will scooping the goop out of the pumpkin.  The kids were divided into teams, ask Bible questions, and when they got it right (they had help if needed), they ran to the table and carved (with LOTS of adult supervision and help) a part of the pumpkin to see which team finished first.

And finishing the night with a hayride.

Camp Will

Will celebrated his 7th birthday with lots of friends at his first camp out.  We ended up having a total of ten boys.  Walker and Nate came inside, but the rest camped out all night.  We roasted hot dogs, made s'mores, played Capture the Flag, and  played!  I had several games planned but they were having so much fun entertaining themselves.
No girls were allowed, so Alexa stopped by before the party started.

Granny & Pa, Aunt Melinda, Shawn Glenn, Nathan, Papa & Nana all stopped by to roast some hot dogs and celebrate.  Papa came back and helped Shannon with the camp out until early morning.  Aunt Emily and Uncle Nick stopped by for breakfast.

I LOVE the look on his face in this picture.  My camera didn't work the first time Will blew out his candles, so I told everyone not to move.  I ran inside to get my other camera and when I came back they were all in the same place.  We relite the candles and the boys all sang happy birthday again.  That was so sweet of them just so I could take a picture!
The whole gang (minus Walker who wouldn't get his picture made)

September in Review

I have a lot to catch up on so here is a quick recap of our month.  Be warned - lots of pictures!

Walker started Preschool Playgroup that meets once a week for a couple of hours.  Here are some pictures from his first day.  I love how he has his left hand over his heart during the pledge.
Will had his first flag football scrimmage and game.

Lining the boys up.  Will is the center.  Me of course knowing nothing about football said what do you do?  He told me he hiked the ball.

Cheering Will on.  Such a cutie!

The youth football teams were honored during halftime at the highschool game.  Here are some of the kids from the 1st and 2nd grade teams.  Notice Shannon and Will to the left.  Shannon is helping coach Will's team.

We helped McKenna celebrate her 2nd Birthday

Strep throat finally got Will this school year.  He missed Thursday and Friday but is feeling much better now.  We made it further this year without getting sick than we did in Kindergarten.

Friday afternoon Will was feeling much better.  Here are some creations that Will and Walker made.  They are always creating something

This morning Will and Walker got up early (as usual), and I was still in bed.  They asked if they could go watch tv.  I told them they could and a few minutes later  I was getting whacked with a sword and the words "fix us breakfast!"  I turned over in bed to see two of the cutiest little pirates.

We went to a hayride last night and they took the kids on a little hike down by the river.  They noticed a light in the distance and waited.  Down the river came a boat carrying none-other than Captain Jack Sparrow.  He stopped and talked with the kids and then came back and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows with the kiddos.  Thus the pirate obsession today.
