Turkey

This is Shannon's first turkey of the season.  While I don't like deer meat I do eat grilled turkey.  I got tricked into that or I probably wouldn't have ate that.  I know that I'll get tricked on the deer meat soon but for the time being I'm very cautious at family gatherings.  I always question what the meats are even if I think I know what it is.
I should probably come up with a clever title or something but it's Thursday afternoon and I've got nothing.  Shannon asked me about fifty times if I was going to put his turkey picture on the blog...so....here it is.

Easter Weekend

Here is our weekend in pictures.  Will had his school Easter egg hunt on Thursday and tied for finding the most eggs.  He won his favorite treat, a chocolate Easter bunny.  Walker had his Easter egg hunt at the LLC on Friday.
On Saturday, Shannon's family had lunch, an Easter egg hunt, and then a baby shower for Adam & Mandy.

E.B. left some treats.

My three boys before church.

Walker's Sunday School class.  Two more kiddos were there but they were done with pictures.

Walker had so much fun

Then we were off to Granny Irvin's for lunch and more egg hunting.  Jayden, Jansen, Will & Walker anxiously waiting.  It started raining so the egg hunt was moved indoors.
All the kiddo's ready to go.

Will found the most eggs and Walker found the least eggs.  Notice - Walker had to wear his new rain boots.

Jayden found the golden egg
We had a great weekend spending time with family, hunting a lot of Easter eggs, and eating some delicious food.  But most importantly, let us remember the real meaning of Easter.

The Countdown is On

Only 12 more days until the wedding of the century!  I am super excited about the upcoming wedding of Will & Kate.  Ever since I was a little girl I have loved all things royal.  Probably because I stayed with my Grandma Cunningham when I was little and she also loves anything royal.  She's always telling me the latest on Charles and Camilla (her source of information is the Enquirer).

I remember watching this royal wedding, even though I was only 5.

While I'm counting down I have to also include...

ONLY 27 more days of school!

I LOVE Summer Break and can't wait to be at home with my boys.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm LOVIN'...
SPRING BREAK!

I'm LOVIN' ...
We got to go see it last night and the boys loved it (and the popcorn!).  Cute movie.

I'm LOVIN'...

that two of our favorite people (Nana and Papa) got to go with us to the movies.

I'm LOVIN'...

being at home and doing nothing at all.  The boys have pretty much played inside, but we are hopeful for prettier weather.  They've played and created all kinds of interesting things with Kinex.  Today we broke out the Wii.

Practicing up for Baseball.  (Igonore the cords hanging down - they drive me crazy and are about to be fixed).

Playing Star Wars
I'm LOVIN'
that we have a few more days of Spring Break left.  And a promise of warmer weather.  We are planning a little trip to Lincoln's Birthplace on Friday and would love to have some pretty weather...and hopefully no rain.

Before and After Party

Today I'm linking up with Thrifty Decor Chick's Before and After Party.

Here is a wall in Will & Walker's Playroom that was just kind of there.  To the left is a bathroom and to the right is the heating and cooling unit.
Before -  blank wall
When I put anything there it just kind of seemed to stick out.  I had wanted a chalkboard for the playroom and decided this would be the perfect place.

The first thing was to tape off the portion of the wall that would be the chalkboard.  I couldn't use the entire wall because toward the bottom is my central vac plug in and an electrical plug-in.  I also wanted the top to line up with the trim.  I painted mutliple coats of chalkboard paint right on the wall.

And the finished project...

Not too bad - especially considering I have no creative bones in my body!

Gravy

Walker has been sick so we missed school today.  After dropping Will off we came home and I attempted to make Walker some "white gravy" as he calls it.  I CANNOT make white gravy - chocolate gravy I can do, but white gravy not so much - until today.  I decided since my sweet little boy wanted white gravy I could give it a try.

And LOOK!

Gravy and biscuit!

My little taste-tester.
                                            Well???...

Probably wouldn't win any cook-offs, but it made one little boy VERY HAPPY (which is way better than any blue ribbon)!!!!
