Super Math Bowl

Will qualified for the annual JES Super Math Bowl in January.  Yay!  We are so proud of him!

The Super Math Bowl was Thursday the 28th.
2nd Grade Participants anxiously waiting.  I'm so proud of all of them.  They get in front of a gym full of people to participate.  That takes a lot of courage.

Students are grouped in pairs of 2 or 3 and given a random addition or subtraction problem for 1st/2nd grade.  The student who correctly answers first advances to the next phase until there is a winner.

We are so proud of you for qualifying, Will !

Pinterest-inspired

Here are a few of my pinterest-inspired projects.  I've linked to a tutorial or inspiration for each of these, but in general I usually end up reading several pins to create the project.

Then I got to have my favorite breakfast...

I actually started celebrating last night when Mom & Dad took us out to eat - it was yummy!  Now I get to spend the rest of the day with my two cutie-pies.  Too bad Shannon had to work today.

Cheering on the Lakers

Yesterday we traveled to BG to help cheer on the Lakers during the Regional Finals at Diddle.  Our Lakers ended up a losing but we had a great time visiting with family.

And look who finally got his glasses.  This is our third pair.  We originally picked out a pair of glasses and both times they were fitting him the ladies broke them (thankfully it wasn't us!).  So Friday we ended up choosing another pair and they were ready this afternoon.

Parties and Glasses

Last Saturday we helped two little boys celebrate birthdays.  First we went bowling and helped celebrate Brody's 4th Birthday.  The boys LOVED bowling.

Will liked trying to bowl left handed.

Then we went to celebrate Carson's 5th Birthday.  Carson's brother, Mason  and Will are good friends.  Walker and Carson became friends from watching their big bro's play baseball and will hopefully be in the same K class next year.
The party was at Elite Gymnastics and they had a great time.  They LOVED jumping off the trampoline into the foam pit.

Then also liked trying to catch the football.

The best I could get of the gang.
Then on Monday, our day off, we got to go to the eye doctor.
Will has to have glasses.  He told me over the weekend he was having trouble seeing the board in one of his classes.  I was hoping it was just from cousin Macy needing glasses and a friend getting glasses at school, but no such luck.  We went to pick up his glasses yesterday and they were broke before we ever left the office.  Thankfully it was the assistant who broke the side of the frame, and not Will.

Walker also got his eyes checked for Kindergarten and to make sure his eyes weren't the cause of headaches he has been having.  While there the doctor confirmed that Walker is also color-blind.  Very strange that both brothers are color blind and the doctor said that they gave almost identical answers on the test.
Walker had to sit in my lap so he could do the vision test.
