Easter Eggs

This is a first for the Stephens...we actually dyed our eggs. Here are Will & Walker getting ready (notice the table cloth draped over the bar).Walker "paintin them". Will dying an egg.
Walker trying very hard to have fun. This is his third day with that nasty stomach virus.
Will showing off his green eggs (now if we just had some ham-ha!)

Our finished project. Notice Will's design on a few.
We're going to dye a few more eggs before the Stephens Easter Egg Hunt this afternoon. Walker won't get to go, but we're hoping he's all better for tomorrow.

Brownies!!!

Brownie edges and corners are my absolute favorite part of brownies. You would think that four corners along with all the edges would be plenty for me, except for the fact that they are also Will's favorite parts. I tried the Perfect Brownie Pan, but ended up hating it! Then for Christmas a great friend got me the EDGE BROWNIE PAN! I LOVE IT!!!!!Here are the brownies getting ready to go in... There are no after pictures, but let me just say I took them to a get together and they were all gone!

Visit from the Toothfairy

Yesterday afternoon Will said he had something stuck in his tooth and after some investigation this is what I saw.
THEN:

NOW:

Thanks to some friends from school, Will informed me that the toothfairy pays "big dollars" for the 1st tooth.

It's been very busy around our house this week. First a visit from the Leprechauns (see prior post) and now a visit from the ToothFairy!

It's Easy Being Green!

What is this you ask? Why it's a Leprechaun trap of course! Yesterday at school, Will's class read a story about how to trap a leprechaun. From the time I picked Will up, until bed last night, that is ALL he talked about, except for during supper in which I declared "no talking about leprechauns." I didn't realize that if you leave leprechauns a treat they will come and visit your house. Leprechauns are very tricky, which makes them very hard to trap.

We got a visit last night from Larry the Leprechaun and his brother Lucky the Leprechaun. They left Will & Walker some "gold chocolate" (as Will calls it) all over the house, a nice letter about how they were almost trapped, and a glass of green milk!
Green milk "GOLD CHOCOLATE" with a trail to the door
All ready to go to school and see if anyone else caught a leprechaun.
I'm the luckiest person in the whole wide world to get to be these two cuties mommy.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Happy Birthday!

March is a birthday-filled month for my family; me, my sister, my Granny, my aunt, and two cousins. This past Thursday my Granny Irvin turned 81. On Friday night we got to go have supper with her. I'm really glad we got to go Friday night, because Will woke up on Saturday with strep throat, which meant we didn't get to go to Granny's surprise party Saturday night.
Granny Irvin with her brothers and sister. My grandparents moved several times when I was little but one constant was this chair. I have many childhood memories for some reason of this chair. So here are my sweet boys sitting in the same chair I did when I was little.
And a random picture of Walker. I put him in his bed Saturday afternoon for a nap and told him I'd come back and check on him. I walked in and he must have gotten out of bed, got a couple of books, and then fell asleep reading. Cute! He sure loves Elmo!

LOVE

As I picked Will up yesterday from "school", he announced, "Mom, I'm in love." Not the words I want to hear from my five-year-old unless it ends "with you." I proceed to ask with who and he said, "My girlfriend!" Will & Lakyn have stayed together since she was probably six-weeks olds and they are the best of friends. We'll talk love in maybe 25 or so years.

1st Dentist Visit

Yesterday turned out to be a snow day for us. The dentist then called and said they had a cancellation if we wanted to come on Thursday instead of waiting until the end of March for Walker's first visit and Will's checkup. As you can tell from the picture Walker is not too fond of the dentist. He watched everything they did to Will, and didn't seem to be too pleased with it . I assured him they were not going to do all of the same things to him but he wouldn't even sit in the chair. Dr. Farmer was great with him though. As Dr. Farmer said, at 2 it is more mental than dental. For $58, he got to see a glimpse into Walker's mouth as he was screaming!
Here is Will with Ms. Bridgette - whom Will loved and Walker liked from a distance. Will's favorite part was he got a mirror just like the dentist's, to use at home. I have a feeling my teeth will be checked out many times.
