LOVE

As I picked Will up yesterday from "school", he announced, "Mom, I'm in love." Not the words I want to hear from my five-year-old unless it ends "with you." I proceed to ask with who and he said, "My girlfriend!" Will & Lakyn have stayed together since she was probably six-weeks olds and they are the best of friends. We'll talk love in maybe 25 or so years.

1st Dentist Visit

Yesterday turned out to be a snow day for us. The dentist then called and said they had a cancellation if we wanted to come on Thursday instead of waiting until the end of March for Walker's first visit and Will's checkup. As you can tell from the picture Walker is not too fond of the dentist. He watched everything they did to Will, and didn't seem to be too pleased with it . I assured him they were not going to do all of the same things to him but he wouldn't even sit in the chair. Dr. Farmer was great with him though. As Dr. Farmer said, at 2 it is more mental than dental. For $58, he got to see a glimpse into Walker's mouth as he was screaming!
Here is Will with Ms. Bridgette - whom Will loved and Walker liked from a distance. Will's favorite part was he got a mirror just like the dentist's, to use at home. I have a feeling my teeth will be checked out many times.

A Hodge-Podge

My computer has been in the repair shop so here is my attempt at catching up.
We've finally moved Walker out of his baby bed. This was sadder for me than for him. Here is his last night in the baby bed.
Here is him sleeping in his toddler bed.
We have loved the snow! But I think the boys are ready to move onto summer. While we were off for a snow day, Will came upstairs wearing his swimming trunks and sun glasses. And of course, Walker wanted to put his swimming trunks on.

SNOW!!!

I had two very excited little boys to see all the snow. They could not wait to go sledding. We got about 6-7 inches! The biggest snow we've seen in a long time. Saturday afternoon we got together with friends and family and went sledding. It was VERY cold!

Walker and Alexa - at this point the were done sledding and ready to get warm. The three of us set in the warm truck and watched the rest sled.
Barkley enjoying the snow. Harley was in her dog pen staying warm. 2nd day of sledding - Much warmer weather today! Sunday several people met at our house for lunch and then off to more sledding. Mom fixed a delicious Crockpot Pizza (that I would have really loved minus the noodles) and oatmeal squares(they were the hit of the party). I fixed Taco Soup, pulled pork and leftover chilli. Joyce (my MIL) fixed a cake. It was great and made great leftovers when we were finished sledding.
Here is Will, Shawn Glenn, Walker and Nathan after lunch and before sledding.
Will & Addison all suited up.

Walker was worn out and fell asleep while everyone was still sledding. Here he is resting in Shannon's truck.

Tubes and Adenoidectomy

Walker went in today for his 2nd set of tubes. He got his first set of tubes at 9 months and they came out about 4 months ago. Since then, we have had about 4 ear infections. So the plan was to remove his adenoids this time also. We had to be at Lexington by 5:30 this morning. Here is Walker playing in the waiting room before he was called back. Here is Walker and "Elephant". Elephant was a gift from Hannah and Charli who thought he needed a special stuffed animal to take back with him during surgery. When Walker got out I asked him if they put tubes in Elephant's ears also and he said yes.
Notice the ankle bracelet. This did not make Walker happy at all. He screamed when the register lady put it on him, and the whole waiting room turned to see what happened.
After surgery- notice not as happy! He tried to pull his iv out numerous times, did not willingly participate as they tried to test his oxygen and wanted the tape and cotton ball off his hand where his IV had been. Walker HATES bandaids and anything of the sort. Now you may see Will wearing 5 or 6 unnecessary bandaids, but not Walker.
The doctor said he could have anything he wanted to eat, and he wanted biscuit and gravy. So we headed to Cracker Barrel which made him much happier. At the moment he is doing great, he has had his pain meds and is taking a nice little nap!

No Day Like a Snow Day!

Today was the first snow day of 2010. While most schools knew there would not be school, we didn't find out until about 5:00 this morning. Will could not wait to go snowsledding. I wasn't real sure about Walker because his usual response is "I not like snow!" But once he got out there he loved sledding. Harley & Barkley playing in the snow.

Climbing back up the hill

While we could have used a little more snow for sledding, Will flew down the hill. Actually once I was trying to take a picture and he about ran over me. He called this sled the rocket banana.
Walker all by himself. Sure glad Santa bought some snow boots!
Riding the four-wheeler is a favorite of Walker's.
